Jack Oselinsky - Golf Course Superintendent
Jack was born and raised in Eastern Pennsylvania to parents who insisted that he participate in daily landscaping chores (mowing, clipping and raking) which he truly resented at the time.
After graduating from West Chester University with a degree in Mathematics Education, he spent several years seeking that perfect lifetime career. After three years in the US Marine Corps, two years with Shell Oil Company in the Pacific Northwest, seven years as a FBI agent and fourteen years as a private investigator he decided he was working more than he was playing golf, so he sold his investigative business and began work as a greenskeeper at Bardmoor Country Club in Largo, Florida where he resided so he could be closer to the game he enjoyed. Two years later he moved to Seattle, again as investigator for a private attorney but after only four months he decided he needed to be on a golf course again. He worked nine years at Bear Creek Country Club in Woodinville, WA where he started as a basic crew person and moved up to Assistant Superintendent in four years. He attended night school and took several accredited online turf management courses through Penn State University and Washington State University to improve his turf management skills. He currently holds a Class A Superintendents accreditation with the US Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America and is a member of the Inland Empire Golf Course Superintendent’s Association.
His wife Mary Ann is the golf course landscape specialist here at The Highlands. His son Greg is a Sergeant with the Mountain View Police Department in California. His daughter Katie is an attorney in Boise and his son CJ is currently continuing his education for a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (inspired by his father’s apparent mental condition). Jack’s parents, both deceased are now enjoying and laughing at his choice of career to which he so adamantly was opposed during his childhood!
Megan Fredrickson - Food and Beverage Manager
Born and raised in Butte, Montana and a graduate of Butte High School, Megan moved to Spokane to attend college. While working at the Waterford Retirement home for five years, she enjoyed lunches at Indian Canyon Golf Course, where she was offered the job to do the beverage cart. She took the job offer and continued her education while working at the course.
After graduating from the Community Colleges of Spokane with a degree in gerontology she moved to Coeur d’ Alene to attend Lewis and Clark State College. Having worked with Chris Johnston while he was at Indian Canyon, Chris recruited Megan as the Food and Beverage Manager for The Highlands Grill and Tap House in 2005.
